The State Administration Council (SAC) urges those who joined the armed resistance course including the PDF to enter into legal fold and to handover the guns and ammunitions.

The SAC also announces the financial reward schemes for the firearms surrender.

The SAC released the announcement on May 9.

The reward schemes involve: five million MMK for a rifle type gun; two million MMK for a pistole type gun; three million MMK for a shotgun; 7.5 million MMK for a mortar (or) a launcher (or) a RPG; 500,000 MMK for a handmade shotgun (or) a handmade mortar (or) a handmade gun; 300,000 MMK for a handmade mine (or) a handmade bomb; 200,000 MMK for other related items expect explosive devices and ammunitions (for example – walkie talkie); and 5 million MMK for a drone that is used in sabotage.

However, the government announcement has condition that those who committed the following crimes: murder, rape and hurt or grievous hurt shall face the legal charge before the court.

Depending on the crimes they committed, degree of liberalization for the legal charge shall be proceeded as per the law, the announcement said.

As per the press statement released by the National Unity Government (NUG) on its two years anniversary, the NUG said a total of approximately 30,000 Myanmar citizens of what they called ‘enemies’ were executed by it including servicemen, police, and civilians like administrators, USDP members, other parties’ members and supporters, and alleged informers.

A total of more than 70 Buddhist monks were killed by the so-called Spring Revolution mostly in Sagaing and Magwe regions.

As per the statistics researched by the NP News, more than 6,000 civilians were murdered under the title of ‘alleged informers’ or the ‘pillars of the executive mechanism’. Amongst, more than 150 civil staff from education and health sector involved.
